When I was diagnosed with
multiple sclerosis, I decided to forgo the prescription medications and use
diet to treat my condition. I went from a flare up when my body totally shut down to an active, high-functioning lifestyle using food as my sole remedy. Since this transformation, I have developed my own food rules as a means of controlling my MS symptoms. Here’s a glimpse into a delicious three days of MS-friendly eating:
DAY ONE
Breakfast:
Morning Snack:
- 6 walnuts
- 1 cup samurai chai matte/maharaja chai oolong tea blend
Lunch:
Dinner:
- 1 fillet baked fish (cod)
- 1 cup cooked green beans
- ½ cup applesauce
- 8 oz lemonade
Evening Snack:
- 1 tbsp almond butter
- Healing Drink with coconut water, carrot juice, lemon juice & apple cider
DAY TWO
Breakfast:
- 1 cup kashi cereal
- 1 cup coconut milk
- ½ cup blueberries
- Cinnamon to taste
Morning Snack:
- peanut butter pretzels (1 serving, or 8 bites)
