Halloumi Cheese Grassfed Burger

Halloumi-Cheese-Grassfed-Burger Further Food

It’s not just a burger sandwich, it’s a double-hitter: the casein in the haloumi will help you find your bliss again, while the omega 3 in grass fed beef will provide the brain power you need to realize s/he might not have been all that perfect after all. No need to stress about buying a pack of buns when don’t have anyone to share them with, since the cheese IS the bun! In addition to the garlic powder, you can add Superfood Turmeric, which is a tasty blend of superfoods that help boost immunity and fight inflammation.

Further Food Commentary:

Halloumi, a mild, tangy cheese made from goat, sheep, and occasionally cow milk, has the unique ability to maintain its shape when heated, yielding a crisp, golden robe to the warm, melty interior. It's rich in calcium, and offers 6 grams of protein per ounce. Pairing it with beef gives you additional protein, as well as iron and vitamin B12, and ensures this simple meal is both filling and flavorful.

If you're watching fat intake, keep in mind that cheeses and beef are good sources of total and saturated fats. One ounce of halloumi can provide upwards of 8 grams of total fat, and ground beef can range from just over 1 to more than 4 grams per single ounce. Consider choosing a leaner beef, and perhaps try sandwiching one piece of halloumi with the patty between two leaves of Bibb or another sturdy lettuce. Reduced fat and light versions of halloumi are also available.

Notes: Halloumi is becoming more mainstream, but may not be available in all markets. Best bets are Mediterranean or Middle Eastern markets and larger chain stores. If you can't find it, you can achieve similar results with Indian paneer or Scandinavian bread cheeses.
